We are excited to announce the release of the comprehensive report titled “Analysing Existing Learning Perspectives Helping Digital Transformation of Senior Musicians for Turkey.” Prepared by Kepder as part of the Erasmus+ funded project “Empowering Digital Transformations for Senior Musicians,” this report offers valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities faced by senior musicians in Turkey as they navigate the digital landscape.

As the music industry in Turkey becomes increasingly digitalized, many senior musicians find themselves struggling to adapt to new technologies and platforms. The COVID-19 pandemic has further accelerated the shift towards digital, making it more urgent for these musicians to develop the necessary digital skills to remain competitive. However, the report highlights significant barriers, including a lack of technical competence, challenges in marketing and digital distribution, and financial constraints that make it difficult for senior musicians to invest in the required technology and training.

The report also underscores the importance of addressing the digital literacy gap among senior musicians. According to recent data, the elderly population in Turkey has grown substantially, now accounting for over 10% of the total population. Despite the increasing digitalization of society, only 25% of individuals aged 65-74 in Turkey possess basic digital skills. This stark contrast with the EU average points to the urgent need for targeted educational programs to help senior musicians acquire the digital competencies necessary to thrive in today’s music industry.

This report is an essential resource for anyone involved in the music industry, particularly those working with senior musicians. It not only highlights the challenges but also offers practical solutions to help senior musicians embrace digital transformation and continue to contribute to Turkey’s rich cultural landscape.

We encourage you to read the full report to gain a deeper understanding of the digital challenges facing senior musicians in Turkey and to explore the proposed strategies for supporting their journey into the digital age.
