On 8th April, during Day 2 of our 4-day digital upskilling workshop under the Erasmus+ project “Empowering Digital Transformations for Senior Musicians” (Project 2023-1-BG01-KA210-ADU-000152921), we proudly celebrated International Roma Day. The day was marked by a strong commitment to inclusion and cultural heritage, as demonstrated by our partner organizations AEGARE, KEPDER, and Vox Civica.

Vox Civica, an organization especially dedicated to supporting local Roma communities, organized a memorable segment in which Roma musicians brought their own equipment to perform traditional music. Their soulful melodies and energetic performance uplifted everyone, creating an engaging and joyous learning atmosphere filled with lively dances and great spirits.

KEPDER from Turkey also contributed significantly to the multicultural environment by inviting renowned Turkish musician Murat Öztürkmen. Murat captivated the audience by demonstrating the unique sound of the Baglama—a traditional Turkish instrument—adding an authentic touch to the celebration.

The workshop further embraced cultural diversity with the participation of talented Romanian musicians, the renowned brothers Petrica Frunza and Stelian Frunz, who are celebrated in their communities for their dynamic performances at weddings, birthdays, and other festive occasions.

Today’s celebration not only enhanced our technical learning experience but also reinforced our shared commitment to breaking down digital barriers and preserving our cultural heritage. This spirit of inclusion and vibrant multicultural exchange is at the heart of our mission to empower senior musicians and enrich Europe’s diverse musical landscape. Stay tuned for more updates on our initiatives as we continue to champion digital upskilling and cultural inclusion in the music industry.
