Another inspiring day of learning, discussion and exchange within our “Bridging the Gap” mobility, where we are exploring one of the key challenges of today’s rapidly changing world – digital exclusion.

Digital technologies are transforming the way we learn, work, communicate and participate in cultural and social life. However, not everyone has equal access to digital tools, skills and opportunities. For many people, the digital transition can create new barriers instead of removing existing ones.

During our activities in Alexandroupoli, participants from Bulgaria, together with our host Innovation Frontiers IKE, explored how education and non-formal learning can help address these challenges.

Through interactive activities, discussions and exchange of experiences, we focused on:

🔹 understanding the different forms of digital exclusion and the digital divide;
🔹 strengthening digital skills and confidence;
🔹 exploring how technology can make learning and cultural participation more accessible;
🔹 identifying barriers faced by people with fewer opportunities;
🔹 sharing approaches and good practices for creating more inclusive digital environments;
🔹 encouraging creativity and cooperation between the cultural, educational and digital sectors.

A particularly important part of our discussions was the role of cultural and creative professionals. As more cultural content, communication and professional opportunities move online, digital competences are becoming essential not only for professional development, but also for ensuring that culture remains accessible to different audiences and communities.

Our mobility is therefore not simply about learning how to use new technologies. It is about understanding how technology can be used responsibly and inclusively to connect people rather than divide them.

Every workshop, conversation and shared experience brings us closer to the main goal of “Bridging the Gap” – creating opportunities for people to participate, learn, create and connect in the digital world.

And our learning journey in Alexandroupoli continues! 🇬🇷🇧🇬💻🤝
